So I can take pictures of this...

I've had my new camera for a little over a week. It has been lots of fun. I've been wanting to get into photography for a while now and I hope to get decent at taking pictures one of these days; there are so many settings to learn. It is hard to practice on three quick boys that don't want to hold still and have even made it a game to run away from the camera. So, I am looking for willing volunteers for me to practice on that will actually hold still for more than two seconds. Any takers?

Gena...I love peeking in on your blog! But I never comment because I really need to get my own gmail account so I don't get mistaken for Craig. I just can't think of a good name for myself...
What Camera did you get...it looks a lot like the one I just ordered...but it hasn't arrived. It took us forever to pick one! I am such a pathetic photographer that I will be beside myself if at least half of the pictures don't come out blurry!

Lois - The camera we got is a Canon XTI. I bought it used on Ebay. It came with the kit lens and a 50mm 1.4 lens. I like it a lot so far. As you can see I still manage to get blurry pictures. I need to learn the settings better and heck the boys move way too much that it is hard not to get a blurry one. Though I love the fact alone that the camera actually takes a pictures when you press the shutter button instead of missing the picture all together cause the boys have moved. Sorry, rambling now. What camera did you guys get?

We looked forever at the Nikon digital SLR's, but when it came down to it, I couldn't stomach the pricetag knowing that we go through cameras so fast and was afraid I'd ruin/not know how to use the lenses etc. So I read a bunch of reviews and settled on the Canon I5 IS. I got it in the mail yesterday and so far we love it! It takes pictures a lot faster too (It even pops off the cap when you turn it on)--and so much clearer. My kids are so squirmy and I am always missing the shot!
